Saunton Golf Club

This is your opportunity to play two Championship courses which have been listed in Golf World & Golf Monthly magazine's 100 Best Courses in the UK, at any time of the year and even on the same day if you are feeling fit enough! Saunton has also been voted the "Best Value Winter Break" destination by Golf World magazine.

Visitors are normally accepted weekdays and weekends after 9:30am by prior arrangement. 

For group bookings of 5 or more, the normal terms are the payment of a £20 per head non-refundable deposit within 7 days of making the booking with the balance payable on the day, before play. 

For those using our online booking facility for 4 or less players, the full amount will be taken online upon booking.  For bookings of 36 holes or for more than one day, please do contact the office on 01271 812436 (option 1).

Late bookings are accepted subject to availability but a telephone call before coming to Saunton is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.

Note:  The discounted winter rates are in place to compensate for maintenance on the course during the winter months, with coring, over-seeding and sand dressing starting in November.

No further discount will be provided.

Soft Spike Policy

In order to give our greens the best possible chance of a smooth playing surface, we must insist that all golf shoes have 'soft-spikes' only

Dress Guide

We are not formal at Saunton. We expect players and guests to be neatly dressed and with the exception of wet weather clothes, golf shoes, and caps/hats what is acceptable on the course is acceptable in the clubhouse. Blue jeans, track suits, tee shirts and trainers are not permitted.

Handicap Certificates

Saunton courses are not for beginners, a reasonable standard of play is required to enjoy the courses.

Slow Play

Players are asked to keep up with the group in front.  If a group loses a complete hole on the match in front they should call the group behind through irrespective of the number in the group.  A 4 ball should take no more than 4 hours to complete a round on either course at Saunton.

Practice Facilities

There are two practice putting greens, a short game practice area, a covered range for iron play only (token required), and a long practice ground.

Buggies And Trolleys

Can be hired and should be reserved in advance with the Pro's shop.


Tees of the day will be white or red or yellow.

Mobile Phones

May only be taken on the courses as a safety precaution and must not otherwise be used.  In the Clubhouse they are not permitted in the Bar or Restaurant.

Pin Positions

We use a coloured flag system to indicate the pin position, Red = Front, Yellow = Middle, Blue = Back
